My baby girl turned 3 today.... still cant believe it!

I went out to this field with my friend who also does photography to take a few of our kids... and I really wanted to get some good ones of Kam for her third Birthday. The field was so pretty... full of sunflowers, beautiful clear sky..... then we walked out there and there were TONS of pokies, thorns, sharp unfriendly plants everywhere! Kamryn was not having it of course and had her dress pulled up past her belly and was walking as far away as she could from me, then she had to go potty and her legs were all scratched up... and then the sun was gone. Not exactly a picture perfect moment. I left feeling so dissapointed because I didnt think I got anything.... but then I started editing and there were quiet a few that I ended up loving!! I actually think I might get some of them printed HUGE and put them in her room... so let me know what your favs are because I cant decide!

I shot these 4 adorable kids back in April, and if you were wondering where they got their good looks from..... well, wonder no more!



this session was tricky with changing locations at the last minute, CRAZY wind, and dark stormy clouds... the odds seemed to be against us, but I think we pulled it off and got some great shots! Thanks to this wonderful family who put up with it all!

"Completely Candid" ....iHeartFaces photo challenge



This weeks photo challenge was tricky for me... I have SO many candid shots that I love. But then I saw this one and I had to post it. I am posting it for all of the Moms who apologize for how theirs kids are acting during their session.... for all of the Moms who get embarassed or frustrated because their kids are not behaving how they would like them to. This is for all of those Moms, because THIS is the meltdown I get everytime I try to take pictures of my daughter. She is my most difficult subject to photograph... and my most sought after subject. I am always wanting to capture her beautiful eyes and her beautiful smile.... it is ALWAYS a challenge.... and no kid will ever compare!

not sure what this face was about... maybe he was a little stunned by all of the sweetness??? (you sure wont see me making this face while eating cake! lol) but what ever it was, it was funny!


then he got REALLY excited and went into "Hulk" mode, as his mother called it...

and then he started flinging that cake everywhere!!!


and of course I had to try something different on a couple of these... very different. But I love the vintage look with the whole cowboy theme.
